Archimedes of Syracuse was a Greek mathematician, physicist, inventor, engineer, and astronomer. Although little about his life is known he is thought to be one of the most important scientists in classical antiquity(also the classical era or classical period). He was known for the Archimedes principle, the Archimedes screw and levers.
The Archimedes principle says any floating object displaces it's own weight in water.
The Archimedes screw is a device used to move water.
